What did you come here to work out?
Almost nobody opens a journal "to keep a journal". You open one for something specific. These are the eight reasons we found, put the way people actually put them.
"I do not even know what is wrong"
Knowing myself
Sixty-four frames for naming a situation. Once something has a name it stops being a shapeless mass.
"I am coming out of a bad stretch"
Repairing myself
We do not measure success, we measure repair. A missed day is covered by writing its review later.
"I live in a rush"
Being present
Two, five or ten minutes with a breathing mandala. Or Stillness mode, where nothing moves at all.
"My difficult conversations"
Connecting
The hexagrams of the bond — union, community, influence, family — and the contemplative voice.
"I turn everything over and over"
Holding steady against what I cannot control
The heart of it. The cast cuts the rumination precisely because you did not choose the image.
"I cannot keep a habit going"
Ordering my days
A morning ritual and a night one, two or three minutes each. Coming back is the practice, not the exception.
"I decide blind"
Growing on purpose
You write the decision down and at 30 and 90 days you are asked what happened. No other journal does this.
"All I see is what is missing"
Enjoying and giving thanks
The hexagrams of abundance, and the journal as an archive of what did happen.
The fifth one is marked because it is where most people arrive, and it is what the I Ching answers best: it does not tell you what will happen — it gets you out of the loop of thinking about it.
